AI Governance & Risk

AI & data security

Threat modeling for AI systems, protections against prompt injection and data leakage, and secure access patterns.

Overview

AI systems introduce new attack surfaces alongside familiar ones. Language models can be manipulated through prompt injection, retrieval systems can expose documents to the wrong users, agents with tool access can be steered into harmful actions and training data can be poisoned. Security teams need clear methods to identify and manage these risks.

We threat model AI systems end to end, covering models, prompts, retrieval layers, tools, integrations and supporting data platforms, using references such as the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and MITRE ATLAS. We then design controls: input and output filtering, permission-aware retrieval, least-privilege tool access, secrets management, logging and approval steps for sensitive actions.

We validate controls through security testing and red teaming, including adversarial prompts and data exfiltration attempts, and help integrate AI-specific monitoring into your existing security operations. The goal is AI solutions that meet the same security bar as the rest of your estate.

Questions we often hear

Can prompt injection be fully prevented?

Not with current technology, so we design in layers. We combine input and output filtering, separation of instructions from untrusted content, least-privilege tool access and human approval for sensitive actions, so a successful injection has limited impact.

Do you perform AI red teaming?

Yes. We test AI systems with adversarial prompts, jailbreak attempts, data exfiltration scenarios and tool misuse, and provide prioritized findings with recommended fixes.
