How we work

From first conversation to lasting results

Four connected phases, Discover, Design, Deliver and Scale, keep business goals, users, data, engineering and risk aligned from day one.

Our approach

Good technology outcomes rarely come from brilliant ideas alone. They come from a disciplined way of working that keeps business goals, users, data, engineering and risk aligned, from the first conversation to the day a solution is running in production and continuing to improve.

At databridge, every engagement follows four connected phases: Discover, Design, Deliver and Scale. The phases flex to the size and nature of the work. A focused proof of value might move through them in weeks, while an enterprise program revisits them many times, but the principles behind them stay the same. You always know what we are doing, why it matters and how progress will be measured.

Principles

What guides every engagement

Outcomes before technology

We start from the business decision, workflow or customer experience you want to improve, and choose technology to serve that goal. Success measures are agreed before any build begins.

Small steps, real feedback

We deliver in short iterations and put working solutions in front of real users early. What we learn guides the next step, so effort goes where it creates value.

Responsible by default

Security, privacy and AI governance are part of the design from day one. Controls are proportionate to risk, so low-risk work moves quickly and higher-risk work gets proper scrutiny.

Capability, not dependency

We document as we go, pair with your teams and plan knowledge transfer from the start. The goal is for your people to own and extend what we deliver.

The phases

Discover. Design. Deliver. Scale.

Discover

Understand the goals, users, data and constraints, and agree where to focus.

2–4 weeks

Discover is where we build a shared understanding of what success looks like. We meet stakeholders and users, review existing systems and data, and assess readiness across technology, people, process and governance.

The phase ends with a prioritized set of opportunities, each with a clear owner, success measures and a realistic view of feasibility, cost and risk, so you can decide where to invest with confidence.

Activities

  • Stakeholder interviews and discovery workshops
  • Current-state review of systems, data and processes
  • Use-case identification and prioritization
  • Data, platform and AI readiness assessment
  • Initial risk, privacy and compliance screening

Deliverables

  • Prioritized opportunity backlog
  • Readiness assessment and gap analysis
  • Value cases with agreed success measures
  • Recommended roadmap and next steps

Who is involved

  • Engagement lead
  • Business consultant
  • Solution architect
  • Data specialist
  • AI governance specialist
02

Design

Shape the solution, architecture and delivery plan, and test the riskiest assumptions early.

3–6 weeks

In Design we turn priorities into a solution that can be built, secured and operated. Architects, engineers and governance specialists work together on the target architecture, data flows, integration points and controls, while user research and prototyping make sure the solution fits how people actually work.

Where uncertainty is high, we build a focused proof of concept or proof of value to test the riskiest assumptions before committing to full delivery.

Activities

  • Solution and target architecture design
  • User journeys, prototyping and validation
  • Proof of concept or proof of value for key risks
  • Security, privacy and AI risk assessment
  • Delivery planning, estimation and team design

Deliverables

  • Solution architecture and recorded design decisions
  • Validated prototype or proof of value
  • Control and evaluation requirements
  • Delivery plan with milestones and acceptance criteria

Who is involved

  • Engagement lead
  • Solution architect
  • Data and AI engineers
  • UX designer
  • AI governance specialist
03

Deliver

Build, test and deploy the solution in short iterations, with quality and controls built in.

8–16 weeks per release

Deliver is where the solution comes to life. Cross-functional teams work in short iterations, releasing working software early, integrating with your systems and testing continuously for quality, security and performance. For AI solutions, evaluation harnesses measure accuracy and behavior on every change.

We involve your users and product owners throughout, so feedback shapes the solution and the people who will run it are ready on day one.

Activities

  • Iterative build in short sprints
  • Data pipeline, integration and platform engineering
  • Automated testing, evaluation and security checks
  • User acceptance testing and feedback loops
  • Production deployment and early-life support

Deliverables

  • Production-ready solution
  • Test and evaluation evidence
  • Runbooks, documentation and architecture records
  • Go-live readiness report

Who is involved

  • Delivery lead
  • Software, data and ML engineers
  • Quality engineer
  • DevOps engineer
  • Client product owner
04

Scale

Monitor, improve and extend what works across teams, sites and use cases.

Ongoing

Scale is about turning one successful solution into lasting capability. We monitor performance, adoption and cost in production, refine the solution based on real usage, and package reusable components, patterns and governance so the next use case starts further ahead.

We also invest in your people through pairing, training and structured handover, so your teams can operate, improve and extend solutions with as much or as little support from us as you need.

Activities

  • Production monitoring of performance, quality and cost
  • Continuous improvement based on user feedback
  • Rollout to additional teams, sites or markets
  • Reusable components and delivery patterns
  • Training, pairing and knowledge transfer

Deliverables

  • Performance and value tracking reports
  • Improvement backlog and updated roadmap
  • Reusable components and playbooks
  • Knowledge transfer and handover plan

Who is involved

  • Engagement lead
  • Platform and MLOps engineers
  • Change and enablement lead
  • Client solution owners

Governance and reporting

No surprises, by design

Every engagement has a named databridge engagement lead accountable for delivery and a client sponsor accountable for decisions. We agree a working cadence at the start, typically weekly check-ins on progress, risks and decisions, regular reviews where you see working output, and monthly steering meetings with senior stakeholders to review value, scope and budget. Status reporting is transparent and consistent, covering milestones, risks, issues and actions, so there are no surprises. Quality is built in through peer review, automated testing, architecture and security reviews, and acceptance criteria agreed before work begins, and regular retrospectives make sure the way we work keeps improving.

FAQs

Working with databridge

More answers on our FAQ page.

How do engagements usually start?

Most start with a conversation about your goals, followed by a short discovery phase to understand your users, data, systems and constraints. From there we agree priorities, success measures and the engagement model that fits best.

Can you work alongside our internal teams?

Yes. Many engagements blend databridge consultants and engineers with client teams, either as a dedicated squad or as specialists embedded in existing teams. We plan knowledge transfer from the start so your people can own what we build.

Are you tied to particular technology vendors?

No. We are technology-agnostic and recommend platforms, tools and models based on your requirements, existing investments, skills, data residency needs and cost. That independence keeps the focus on what works best for you.

Do you work with organizations outside your office locations?

Yes. We support clients across regions and time zones, combining remote collaboration with on-site work where it adds value. Working hours, communication cadence and travel needs are agreed at the start of each engagement.

What engagement models do you offer?

We offer project-based delivery against a defined outcome, dedicated teams that work as an extension of your organization, and individual experts who join your teams. Talent can be provided on a contract, contract-to-hire or permanent basis, and models can be combined.

How do you price your work?

We use three main commercial models. Fixed-scope pricing suits well-defined projects with clear deliverables, time and materials suits work where scope will evolve, and retained teams provide ongoing capacity for an agreed period. We recommend the model that best balances certainty and flexibility for your situation.
